Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year!
You can’t help but smile at all the festive decorations that surround you as Christmas approaches. The busy and drab high streets, that make shopping a chore throughout the year, suddenly turn into a magical wonderland.
I love making crochet coasters. They are quick and easy to make, and useful too!
They can be plain and simple and still add a lovely touch to your home decor. Or you can get more creative with them.
I’ve designed many crochet coasters over the last few years, from simple designs to more imaginative show pieces, sure to grab the attention of house guests.

These would add a loving touch to your home, or make a wonderful gift.
The crochet pattern uses the Granny Stripe stitch and 4 colours to create a gradient effect design, but you can use any colour combination you like.

The Hot Water Bottle Cover is designed to fit most standard 2Litre sized rubber bottles. The finished flat measurements are approximately 23cm (9”) in width, 28cm (11”) in length excluding neck, and 35cm (13.75”) from base to top of bottle neck.
It’s coming up to that time of year again! This year, I’ve created a free crochet Christmas pudding beanie hat pattern, a fun novelty hat for the festive season.
I have included 10 sizes, from Newborn up to Adult XL, so everyone can join in the celebrations!
After creating my latest Sea Shells Beach Bag crochet pattern, I had a some leftover cotton yarn. The mix of colours reminded me of cupcakes, so I thought I’d design a free cupcake pin cushion crochet pattern to make use of my scraps.
I love how the colourful pin heads look like 100’s and 1000’s sprinkles on my cupcakes!
I have used Aran/Worsted weight Cotton yarn, with a 4mm hook. You can use any yarn type or weight you prefer, but it may effect your finished cupcake size. Use a hook size at least 1 size smaller than recommended, to keep stitches tight. This will give extra support for holding your pins in place.
