Hooked On Patterns’
colour palette inspirations!
I love crochet, and I’m obsessed with yarn colours. If I find a colourful, beautiful image, I examine it to find the balance of colours across the page.
Yarn Palette #3: This is a photo of a beautiful butterfly on a flower. The flower is like a flame, bright yellow and red. It is rooted by an earth green stem. The butterfly is a soft orange brown hue with a black outline and body. The white spots create contrast. This gives an interesting blend of colours, it creates a colour palette that is bold yet earthy. This summer seasoned photograph, lends itself to more of an autumnal palette.
Yarn Palette Colour Scheme #3
I’ve had a search for yarn ranges, with suitable colours to match my scene, over on the LoveCrochet website. If you like my yarn palette, please consider purchasing your yarns via my affiliate links. At no extra cost to you, I would receive a small commission.
Here, I have selected the corresponding colours in Worsted weight Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn:
I have also chosen a DK weight option, using Stylecraft Special DK acrylic yarn:
