Details for the Christmas crochet stocking pattern
This is a crochet pattern for a jumbo sized Christmas stocking for the holiday season. Perfect for using as a gift sack for lots of presents.
The pattern is worked using tapestry crochet colour work and includes visual graphs as well as full, easy to follow, written colour changes for each round. I have used acrylic yarn to allow some stretch when filling.
- Yarn Weight: UK DK/US Light Worsted
- Hook Size: 4mm
- Size: Finished stocking measures approx. H50cm/20″ top to heel, L28cm/11″ heel to toe, and D24cm/9.5″
You can make the stocking even larger by using different yarn weights and hook sizes. As a guide, approximate sizes would be:
Aran/Worsted & 5mm hook = H:22.5″ x L:12.5″ x W:11″
Chunky/Bulky & 6mm hook = H:25″ x L:14″ x W:12.5″
To crochet this Christmas gift sack, you will need:
DK/Light Worsted acrylic yarn – approx. 420yds of Red or main colour and 300yds of White or secondary colour
