Hello and welcome back to the second week of my Bathroom Set CAL! This week we have a free headband crochet pattern, perfect for keeping hair out of the way when using the face scrubbies (featured exclusively in the Bathroom Spa Gift Set PDF download). These headbands are also handy when applying make up.

WHICH YARN SHOULD I USE?

To make a matching gift set, I have used the same yarns for all of my bathroom set items. Drops Cotton Light, 50/50 cotton and polyester mix DK weight yarn. Continue using your personal choice of yarn for this CAL. If you are using Worsted (Aran) weight yarn, follow the guidance on measuring your work to ensure you achieve the right size. You can also use this crochet pattern to make a general everyday headband with any yarn you like.

Ok, let’s get started!

LADIES MAKE UP & CLEANSING HEADBAND – CROCHET TUTORIAL

You will only need to know a few basic US stitches to follow this pattern and make this textured crochet headband: (ch) chain, (sl st) slip stitch, (sc) single crochet, and (dc) double crochet.

We will also be to using (sc2tog) single crochet 2 together (a way of decreasing stitches) – hook through the st, yarn over and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), hook through the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

You will need a total of approximately 30g/70yds of yarn. 25g/58yds of your main colour and 5g/12yds of your accent colour. You will also need a 5mm hook, a tape measure, yarn needle and scissors.

The finished headband is designed to fit an average ladies size head. It will measure 20″ in circumference. You can adjust the size if needed, guidance will be given within the pattern at the point of adjustment.
