Striped pyjamas – Sleepy Gonk free crochet pattern

Doll clothes pyjamas Free Crochet PatternThe main body of the striped pyjamas are worked lengthways in rows and then joined at the front. The sleeves are added in rounds after.
I have used White and Blue, you may use any 2 colours you choose. When changing colours, swap over to the next colour on finishing the last sc of the previous colour. Drop the previous colour and leave it at the end of rows ready to pick up again when needed, allow the dropped yarns to lay across at the bottom, these will be hidden later.

R43. ch1, sc x11, change to White, turn (11 in Blue) Leave the Blue yarn attached for now
R44. ch1, sc x11, Fasten off White yarn leaving a long tail (11 in White)

Using your yarn needle, feed the tail end down past the last 3 sts. Bring the starting end around, match up the stitches of the 2 sides and join from the 4th st down to the hem. This joins the body at the front with a small V neckline left open.

Striped pyjamas hem and ties

Hook through and pull up a loop of the Blue yarn at the edge of row. Work a round of single crochets along the edge of each row all the way around, crocheting over the dropped yarns from the colour changes. Slip stitch to join to the beginning, fasten off and weave in end.
Cut 2 pieces of Blue yarn, approximately the length of the pyjamas, and tie to each corner of the V neckline opening for the tie strings.

Striped pyjamas sleeves

Work the sleeves in joined rounds using Blue yarn. Join yarn to the middle of underarm, around the edge of the second White row along,
R1. sc evenly around the armhole as follows:
sc x2 along the White row edges, sc x4 up the Blue row, sc x4 down the other Blue row, sc x2 around the White row edges, sl st into first sc to join (Total of 12 sc stitches)
R2.-R7. sc in each st, sl st into first sc to join (12 for 6 rounds) fasten off.
Repeat for the other armhole and weave in ends.
For the striped colour changes, the hat is worked flat in rows making a fan shape before seaming to form the cone shaped hat. I have used Blue and White to match my Pyjamas. We will be cutting the yarn at the end of each colour change. Crochet around theses extra ends to save to from having to weave them in later.

When joining your new colour, join by making a sc straight into the first st (make a slip knot in yarn, place loop on hook, hook through the first st, yarn over and pull through a loop – 2 loops on hook, yarn over and pull through both loops).
The starting ch1 do not count as stitches, but sl sts do count. Fasten off colours by cutting yarn and pulling the end through the last loop on hook.

Sleepy Gonk free crochet patternR10.-R25. Repeat from R2. to R9. two more times.
R26.-R32. Repeat from R2. to R8.

You will have a total of 16 colour changes and 4 White starting ends left long.
Use a length of Blue yarn and your yarn needle to stitch the 2 ends together to make a cone shape. Start from the wider base stitching up to the tip. Allow the previous long White ends to hang out the top, stitch around the tip to close and wrap your Blue yarn around the 4 strands of White ends to tie them together to finish.
