FARMER GONK FREE CROCHET PATTERN – Doll Clothes
If you would like to make another Gonk with an undershirt and boots, follow this guide for colour changes:
Work the main body as detailed in the original Santa Gonk
pattern from R1. to R13. in Black yarn. Work R14. to R19. in
your chosen undershirt colour. Work R20. to R30. in flesh
colour for the head. To add sleeves to the arms, work R1. to R3. of the arm pieces in flesh colour and change to your shirt colour for the rest of arms. Follow the placement instructions as detailed in the nude Adam Gonk to attach your nose and arms to ensure the outfit fits correctly.
Dungarees – Farmer doll free crochet pattern
We will be working in continuous rounds for the bottom and then in rows for the top and straps.
~ Some of my other crochet patterns ~
Using Blue yarn, ch42 and sl st into first to join forming a circle,

R2.-R6. sc in each st (42 for 5 rounds)
R7. *sc x5, dec,* repeat between * a total of 6 times (36)
R8. sc in each st, sl st into first sc to join and level off (36)
Continue on to make the back.

R13. ch20, skip the first 5 ch and sc x15 down the back bumps of ch, sc in the 2nd st of R12., ch20, skip the first 5 ch and sc x15 down the back bumps of ch, sl st into 3rd st of R12. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Dungarees front panel
R14. Count 10 stitches along from the back piece, join yarn with a sc in the 11th st, sc x9, turn (10)
R15.-R17. ch1, sc x10, turn (10 for 3 rows – do not count ch1) Fasten off and weave in ends.
Dungarees buttons and details
For buttons, make 2 small circles in grey/silver yarn. Start with a magic ring and sc x5 into ring, pull closed, cut yarn and pull through last loop, using your yarn needle, pass the tail through the first sc st and back through the middle of the last loop.
Secure and thread the end through to the middle of circle. Attach them to the corners of the front piece by threading the starting and tail ends through the piece either side of a post and tie together. The skipped chain stitches on the straps form the buttonholes.
Embroider stitch details using a length of yarn in another colour. I have used back stitches to make 2 lines around the waist, a line down either side, and a pocket shape on the front panel. You could add some side and back pockets too if you like.
Straw hat – Farmer Gonk free crochet pattern
Work the hat in continuous rounds (unless instructed otherwise) using a stitch marker to keep your starting stitch.
Using Yellow yarn, start with a magic ring,
R1. sc x6 into mr (6)
R2. inc in each st (12)
R3. sc, inc – 6 times (18)
R4. sc x2, inc – 6 times (24)
R5. sc x3, inc – 6 times, sl st into first sc to join (30)
R6. Work this round in the back loops only, sc in each st (30)
R7.-R10. sc in each st (30 for 4 rounds) sl st to join on last.
R11. Work this round in the front loops only, sc x4, inc – 6 times (36)
R12. sc x2, inc, *sc x5, inc,* repeat between * a total of 5 times, sc x3 (42)
R13. sc x6, inc – 6 times (48)
R14. sc x3, inc, *sc x7, inc, * repeat between * a total of 5 times, sc x4 (54) Cut yarn and fasten off. Weave in ends.
For a little added detail, you can add a line of slip stitches around the base of hat using the surface slip stitch technique.
Scythe – Farmer Gonk free crochet pattern
Using Brown yarn chain 20, turn to work into the back bumps of the chain, sl st into the 2nd bump from hook and each remaining back bump of the chain (making 19 slip stitches).
You will see 2 lines of stitch top “v”s, one next to the other. Turn, ch1 and work into the back of these, place your hook through the middle to come out in between the 2 “v” rows and sl st back up to the other end (making 19 more slip stitches). Fasten off and weave in ends. (see the Wizard Gonk Staff for step by step photos of this process)
Using Grey yarn chain 9, turn to work into the back bumps of the chain, sl st into the 2nd bump from hook, followed by sc, 2sc, sc x5. Fasten off, weave in starting end and use the tail end to attach to the top of the shaft.
Bonus Outfit! – Farmer Gonk free crochet pattern
You can easily adapt this farmer outfit into a modern fishing outfit.
Just add a base to the dungarees to make waders and work in Green yarn! For the waders base, follow the Gonk’s body pattern from R1. to R7. and go straight on to the dungarees instructions.
